ON Tour
Having completed my late summer tour of the UK in 2019, there are no currently scheduled dates due to COVID-19, but don’t let that stop you from asking!
I am available by request, eager to talk to bookshops, book clubs, school groups, and the like. Some of this we might do by Skype or Zoom, don’t you think? Don’t let geography be a limiting factor. Y’all, I just like to talk and meet folks, and if you’re interested in the book, too, that’s great.
PAST
I was delighted to teach a two-day course on field walling and gapping for Black Mountains College in Wales, August 27th & 28th, 2019. Six students worked with me on the open hill in Brecon Beacons National Park, restoring collapsed portions of an old boundary wall. In sunshine and rain, with poetry and hammers, a good time was had by all. We were joined by the writer and aspiring waller Owen Sheers, and we all hope to repeat the experience next summer with a repeat course… especially if it can include more visits for tea and cake with Rae over in the Kitchen Garden at Ty Mawr!

Elementum Gallery, South Street, Sherborne, Dorset, DT9 3LU
This is a special spot for me, as I wrote for Elementum, Ed. 4, not long after the publication of Between Stone and Sky. Catherine Hyde’s original art from my piece on the Elan Valley is currently hanging in the gallery space, and Jay Armstrong, the journal’s publisher and editor, has been a wonderful ally as I have begun to make my way through the world as a writer.
Drinks from 6:30, with reading and discussion beginning at 7:00. Tickets are £9.99 and include a signed copy of Between Stone and Sky (or £6 and redeemable against a copy of the book, if you so choose).
